Fitness has always been a part of my life. As a kid, I watched my parents work out and maintain a healthy lifestyle, and that inspired me as I started my fitness journey. I played sports all through school and found a love for snowboarding along the way. I eventually found CrossFit during my undergrad and haven't looked back since! CrossFit has changed my life in many ways, and I am grateful to have found this sport. It has pushed me in ways I didn't know I was capable of and has given me strength and confidence I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else.
A turning point for me was realizing that I couldn't outwork a bad diet. I needed to change how I was fueling my body and ensure I had a healthy relationship with food. I didn't eat "awful," but as I took account of my sugar intake, the bad fats, the snacks, and overindulging in my favorite things like salt N vinegar chips or sour candy, I realized that my food choices were thwarting all my efforts in the gym and I needed to make a change. So, I began to make small changes. I stopped buying junk food. Then, I started meal prepping and macroing out my meals. After a while, I started seeing the progress I was missing out on in the gym. I learned balance and ensuring I ate healthy more often gave me the freedom to indulge in my favorite things without feeling guilty.
Health and fitness are an integral part of my life, and being able to share that with others fills my cup. I want to help people become successful in the gym and help them reach their potential! Watching my athletes hit a PR or finally get their first double under, C2B, T2B, or any other movement is one of the most empowering things as a coach. I want you to leave my class feeling like you got something out of it and that I could help you when/where you needed it.
